A different kind of therapist.

Hello there! My name is John Yowell and I am an LCSW practicing in the state of Texas. I have an M.S.W and M.A. in Sociology from the University of Texas at Arlington and have been working as a social worker in the DFW metroplex for the last decade. Throughout that time I have served in a wide variety of roles ranging from case management in local mental health clinics to leading rapid response crisis teams in the community. As a result I have come to emphasize adaptability, creativity, and resourcefulness in my approach to therapy. Perhaps most importantly, I’ve come to understand that the biggest barrier to engaging with any mental health service, especially therapy, can be building the trust and connection necessary to simply start doing the work. I want to make that part easy.
